King's Counsel

Caius Strixley

Farrand's polished rival from a grander chambers.

Pale, immaculate, and devastatingly composed, Strixley is Farrand's most elegant rival: a barrister of perfect grammar, perfect manners, and unsettlingly black eyes. He does not twist the law so much as polish it until nothing human remains reflected in it. His arguments are exact, correct, and often brilliant - but bloodless. To Farrand, Strixley represents the terrifying possibility that language can be beautiful, lawful, and utterly soulless.
Satu tangan dihulur, satu lagi bersenjata. ("Offer one hand, but arm the other.") Kebanyakan peguam mahkamah biasanya ada 'rival' (senyap-senyap).
